I know people think I'm crazy or extreme with our eating habits, but if they could experience how we are feeling, they'd probably change, too. We're not giving up cookies and donuts, we are giving up the kind of cookies and donuts we used to eat. I truly hope we can stick to this lifestyle change. It's expensive. It's time consuming and it's not easy, but it's so worth it.
I see the effect of the food through you, Lily. You reap the benefits (or negatives effects) from the foods I eat. Seeing it help with your reflux makes me want to keep going.
The hardest part is making everything from scratch...even my flours. But I'm realizing this is how people used to do it. Women would spend all day preparing a meal.
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
...Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
So far your dad and I have lost weight, quit taking tums six times a day, our digestive tract seems healthier, my skin has cleared up, our bellies seem less bloated, we have more energy, stay fuller longer and are happier. Pretty amazing how food impacts every part of our lives.
